I saw Born Cages this past weekend at a small studio in NYC. I had never heard of them before, but let me tell you, I'm in love. I'm a huge fan of alternative rock/indie, and this band is just that! This is their first EP, and it is a wonderful 17 minute listen.

My three day weekend in NYC turned into a five day weekend with today and yesterday being snow days!

Holiday Gift Guide: Part Two

Here are some gift ideas on the pricier side. These would be great for family members and close friends!

1. Sequined top- Sequins are definitely a trend this winter. They are perfect for the holidays!

2. Vest- As y'all know, I love my J. Crew vests. They are the perfect addition to any outfit; I wish I could have one in every color!

3. Fancy coat- Every girl needs a coat that can be dressed up or down.

4. Tory Burch Handbags- Tory Burch is my favorite designer. I lust over all of her purses, and I especially love the Thea crossbody.

5. Monograms- Monogrammed jewelry and accessories are the perfect gift for any preppy girl.

6. KJP bracelets- These look absolutely gorgeous paired with a watch!

7. Statement necklaces- Big necklaces go great with oxfords, and definitely add a dressy tone to an outfit.

Winter in New York City

New York City is my absolute favorite place on earth. No matter what time of year it is, there is always something to do. In the winter, the Christmas spirit can definitely be felt in NYC; with the Rockefeller tree, the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, the ice skating rinks and, of course, the cold. I spent this past weekend in Manhattan and had an amazing time. These photos were taken in the Flatiron district of Manhattan right near the iconic Flatiron building. Although it was pretty chilly outside, I was perfectly content in a thick sweater and my favorite J. Crew vest with my warm Starbucks coffee in hand!

Holiday Gift Guide: Part One

It is now officially the holiday season! One of my favorite parts of the holidays is buying gifts for others; I just love picking out the perfect gift and wrapping it up! I wanted to give y'all some gift ideas for your friends and family. Here are my favorites for under $50...

1. Fuzzy socks- I love getting socks as gifts. I know it's kind of the "joke" gift, but in the winter, most girls are wearing boots. Crew socks or knee high socks go great with boots!

2. Makeup- Every girly-girl loves makeup. I especially love all of the gift sets Sephora has for the holidays!

3. Wristlet- These are great for on the go! I actually have a Lilly wristlet in a different pattern, and I love it!

4. Scarves- Adding a scarf to a cute outfit can keep you very warm in the winter while walking between classes! I love J. Crew Factory's infinity scarf collection.

5. Candles- Bath and Body Works always has great candles, no matter what season it is! I am currently using Twisted Peppermint in my room; it smells like Christmas!

6. Coin Purse- This little coin purse from Fossil caught my eye! It is so cute and they have lots of others as well!

7. Makeup case- J. Crew always has the cutest makeup cases. They are great for traveling or just spending the night at a friend's house!

8. Philosophy set- Philosophy always comes out with adorable holiday gifts sets, and they smell amazing!

I've been using the Sonia Kashuk Gel Liner with my MAC 266 brush lately, and it is definitely a new favorite!

Exciting News!

I am delighted to announce that I am now a campus rep for Bows & Kites! Bows & Kites is an online bow boutique that sells bows of all sorts! As y'all know, I am a bow lover myself, and I jumped at the opportunity to become a campus rep! Prior to becoming a campus rep, I made a few purchases from Bows & Kites, and let me tell you, they are my absolute favorite bows! The quality of the bows is fantastic; you can tell they are made with love! The shop offers so many different fabric choices, including Lilly Pulitzer, solid colors, patterns, holiday themed, monogrammed and game day colors! Again, I am absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity to be a campus rep for such a fantastic company.
