It has finally started to feel like Fall where I live, so it is time to start layering up! Here are a few of my favorite outerwear options for the upcoming cold seasons:

Tuesday Two {5}

Over the weekend I went to the pumpkin patch and picked my pumpkin! Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year; everything is just beautiful!

I recently splurged and got a new watch.  I didn't have a completely gold toned watch, so I justified my purchase and I absolutely love it!

What's your #TuesdayTwo?

Pearls, Monograms and Leopard Print

I just love the way this look turned out. I wore it to my Mom's birthday dinner last weekend and it was perfect! All over Pinterest I have seen looks that layer monogram necklaces and pearls.  This multistrand pearl necklace is absolutely perfect for doing just so! The shoes really add a statement to this fairly simple outfit.

How have you styled pearls and/or monograms?

Carrot Cake Recipe

Some of you may know that I am a very avid baker. I hope to someday open up my own bakery in my later years of life. I hadn't done a baking post in quite some time, so I figured why not?! My Dad's birthday was this past week, and he is a carrot cake lover. It came out quite well, and he even went as far as to say this was the best carrot cake he has ever tasted!

Carrot Cake:
  • 4 eggs
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 3 cup grated carrots
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 8 oz can crushed pineapple
Frosting:
  • ½ cup butter
  • 16 oz powdered sugar
  • 12 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Start out by preheating the oven to 350, and greasing two 9 inch pans

To make the cake:
  1. Beat eggs, oil, applesauce, both sugars and vanilla in a large bowl
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a smaller bowl
  3. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients
  4. Add carrots, pecans and pineapple
Divide the cake batter among the two pans, and bake for 30 minutes

To make the frosting:
  1.  Beat all ingredients until smooth and sweet
Once the cake is finished and completely cooled, add frosting

Let me know if you try this recipe! I'd love to see your rendition of it!

Tuesday Two {4}

I hope y'all have had a great start to your week! I have definitely had an exciting past few days!

I received my first college acceptance letter over the weekend! I am thrilled to say that I was accepted at Auburn University, which is my third choice school! Only 6 more schools to hear from!

Of course, Grey's Anatomy has and will always be one of my favorites. Season 10 just started a few weeks ago, and it is SO GOOD. If you don't watch Grey's Anatomy, you should! I love it for the characters, plot, and the medical aspect of it, as I will someday be a doctor.

Senior Year Homecoming

This past Saturday night was my Senior homecoming! I ended up only going to my boyfriend's homecoming instead of my own, and I had a lot of fun! I love dressing up, especially in sparkles and sequins! We took pictures and ate a fancy dinner before going to the dance, and afterwards we watched a movie and just relaxed. It was a great end to my three years of homecomings!
